Which is the most popular MTA system on Linux ?
Hmm… I read a post in 3home’s Linux newsgroup to talk about qmail is the most popular MTA system on Linux.
I think it is doubtful that qmail is different to setup and not a default MTA in popular Linux distros. We believes a huge number of Linux users to use Linux as their production servers, but I believes many of us doesn’t spend to customise or hack their Linux systems, their expection to their server system is “install it and get it run”. Even qmail is a popular safe MTA system, but they doesn’t spend a day to tailor their qmail system, default MTA in each distros should be the most popular MTA to their users.
My conculsion is that qmail, exim, postfix, sendmail are four most popular MTA in Linux world.
P.S. I found qmail is claiming that they are second most popular MTA when I was adding external links to this blog post.
