幾星期前決定在 Open Source Workshop #4 上，向會眾介紹，今年香港朋友應該參加和舉辦那一些活動。

香港除了在六月份會舉辦 [GNOME 亞洲峰會](http://sammy.hk/2012/02/21/%e9%a6%99%e6%b8%af%e6%88%90%e5%8a%9f%e7%94%b3%e4%ba%9e-gnome-asia-summit-2012-in-hong-kong)外，近年我們也在九月份舉行軟件自由日，也是另一個本地重點活動。

今年我們應該要升級一下，把以往當作每年的最大活動，香港區的國際軟件自由日，改名為「香港自由軟件及開放原始碼會議」(Hong Kong Free Software & Open Source Conference) (中英名字也是暫訂)。

以往軟件自由日，我們也試過同時開兩、三間講室進行多線會議。因此今年希望至少分為 2 tracks，或者會加入工作坊 (workshops)、閃電講 (lightning talks)、Unconference，同時軟件自由日也是會議原素之一。

Users Track 可能有 Ubuntu, Firefox, LibreOffice, MeeGo, WordPress 等等。
Developers Track 可能有 Java, Python, Node.js, Drupal, Ruby, PHP 等等。

大約 5 月開始找一些合辦組織、贊助商，6 月邀請各地人仕提交講題建議。我希望今年終於見到，香港第一個本地開放原始碼會議。

除了香港活動，也提到大家應該參加台灣活動 – 首辦的 [JSDC.tw](http://www.jsdc.tw) 和最大型活動 [COSCUP](http://www.coscup.org)。
