The winter monsoon is bringing cold weather to southern China. Meanwhile, a broad band of clouds is covering the region.
Mainly cloudy. Cold in the morning. The minimum temperature will be about 11 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Dry with bright periods during the day with a maximum temperature of around 17 degrees. Moderate north to northeasterly winds, occasionally fresh at first.Still rather cool in the morning on Saturday, sunny periods during the day with temperatures rising. Mainly cloudy in the following couple of days. Windier on Sunday.
The winter monsoon will continue to bring cold weather to southern China today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, the broad band of clouds covering the region will thin out slightly. Daytime temperatures will rise on the weekend over the region. The monsoon is expected to be replaced by a fresh to strong easterly airstream early next week. The northeast monsoon will affect Guangdong in the middle and latter parts of next week.
