Google 收購 Motorola 並不在意手機生意 ?

知名自由軟件開發者 ESR (Eric S. Raymond) 從去年開始，在其網誌撰文談 Android 平台及其市場。

在 Google 以 $12 billion 收購 Motorola 後，ESR 覺得今次 Google 收購 Motorola 是為了 Motorola 的 patents，而不是 Motorola 的手機生意。

“This is Google telling Apple and Microsoft and Oracle “You want to play silly-buggers with junk patents? Bring it on; we’ll countersue you into oblivion.”

在得到 Motorola 的 patents 後，有利 Google 跟 Apple、Microsoft、Oracle 繼續「玩 patents」了。
