今年夏天蘋果公司將會推出 iPhone 3.0 系統軟件，到時所有 iPhone 3G 用戶可以免費更新。而 2G 用戶因硬件規格而不能享用新的 A2DP 和 MMS 服務，iPod 用戶也可以 $9.95 美元更新至 3.0 系統。而 iPhone 開發者可以由即日起參與 beta 測試。
iPhone 3.0 系統軟件實現了不少 iPhone 用戶的期望，在介面、網絡通訊、公事和多媒體方面也有改進和加入新功能。

iPhone 3.0 firmware will be released by Apple Inc, and firmware 3.0 can be updated freely on all iPhone 3G handset this summer by Apple Inc.
